Payouts & fees
How you get paid and what we charge
Payouts
All ticket revenue is held by Stripe and paid out to your connected bank account every week, automatically, through Stripe Connect. Payouts start before your event, so you don't have to request one or wait for the show. Your first payout follows Stripe's standard new-account hold of about 3 weeks.
- Platform fee: 3% of each paid ticket. Free RSVP tiers cost nothing.
- Plan: Free, no subscription required. Pro ($12.99/mo or $129/yr) is optional and charges the same 3%.
- Per-event fee: None.
- Stripe processing: 2.9% + 30¢ per successful payment, paid by the buyer as its own line at checkout. It does not come out of your revenue.
- First payout hold: about 3 weeks, Stripe's standard hold for new accounts. After that, payouts are weekly.
Choose who covers the 3%
Each event has a fee setting where you choose who covers the 3%. By default you do, and it comes out of your payout. Choose buyers and a separate "Platform fee" line appears at Stripe Checkout, and you net the full ticket price.
- You cover it (default): On a $20 ticket, the buyer pays about $20.91 (ticket plus card processing). You net $19.40 (ticket minus 3%).
- Buyers cover it: On a $20 ticket, the buyer pays about $21.53 (ticket plus 3% platform fee plus card processing). You net $20.00.
Tax is added on top where it applies. You can change the setting anytime from Edit event. The change applies to new checkouts; tickets already sold aren't re-billed.

Refunds and chargebacks
Refunds are set by you, the organizer. We don't process one-off refunds through the platform. If you want to refund a single buyer (no-show policy, tier swap, goodwill), you pay them back directly (Venmo, Zelle, cash, bank transfer, whatever you prefer).
The one exception is cancelling the entire event. When you cancel from your dashboard, we automatically refund every order whose money is still in our balance (not yet paid out). Our 3% platform fee and the buyer-paid card processing fee are reversed where Stripe allows. Orders whose payouts already landed in your bank are marked as organizer-handled, and we email those buyers your contact info so they can reach out to you directly for their refund. DIY Stubs never pulls money back from your bank.
Chargebacks (when a cardholder disputes a payment with their bank) are the organizer's liability. Stripe will pull the funds, plus a dispute fee, from your balance.
